Help us keep the Linux Association of Canada's community information accurate and up to date. This flexible volunteer role involves data verification, research, and supporting community resources—all from the comfort of your home.
About the Linux Association of Canada
The Linux Association of Canada is a non-profit community dedicated to supporting Linux, open-source software, and technology education across Canada. We connect enthusiasts, professionals, students, user groups, and organizations that share a passion for open source.
As our community grows, we're looking for volunteers who can help us maintain accurate information and support various administrative and community-focused activities.
What You'll Do
Volunteers may assist with:
- Verifying and updating information in our community databases
- Reviewing member and organization records for accuracy
- Researching and confirming publicly available information
- Identifying duplicate or outdated records
- Helping maintain directories of Linux user groups, events, and community resources
- Supporting community outreach and engagement initiatives
- Providing feedback on processes and tools that improve data quality
Tasks will vary based on your interests, availability, and experience.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking individuals who:
- Have good attention to detail
- Are comfortable using web-based tools and spreadsheets
- Enjoy organizing information and solving small problems
- Can work independently and communicate clearly
- Support the values of open source and community collaboration
No advanced technical skills are required. Training and guidance will be provided.
Location: Remote (Anywhere in Canada)
Commitment: Flexible, approximately 1–5 hours per month
