In working toward the stable Plasma 6.7 desktop release in mid-June, out today is the first beta of KDE Plasma 6.7. Plasma 6.7 comes with many changes including HDR improvements, much better CPU-based rendering performance, various fixes to benefit the NVIDIA Linux graphics driver stack, enabling overlay planes for Intel graphics, per-screen virtual desktop support, continued work around KWin on Vulkan, better direct scan-out handling for full-screen games, UI polishing, and many other improvements. KDE's plasma-bigscreen is also part of the Plasma 6.7 with renewed efforts around big screen / living room TV type PCs. More background information there via plasma-bigscreen.org. Plasma Bigscreen will be great for the Steam Machine! The other new module with Plasma 6.7 is Union as the new CSS-based style/theming engine for Plasma.
