Why Now?

Making the Open Infrastructure Behind Our Digital World Visible

Linux and open source already support cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, research, telecommunications, and digital services. This week will help Canadians better understand their role and the opportunities they create.

01

Make It Visible

Show how open technologies already support everyday life, education, and Canada’s economy.

02

Bring People Together

Create lasting connections among communities, institutions, businesses, volunteers, and the public sector.

03

Build Capacity

Provide practical opportunities to learn, contribute, create, and discover career pathways.

One Week, Many Experiences

Not One Conference, but a National Movement

Each community can organize an activity suited to its audience, region, and resources. A small local meetup, school workshop, library demonstration, or major conference can all be part of the same celebration.
