Open Source Week 2027
About This Event
Open Source Week 2027 is a national celebration of Linux, open-source software, open technologies, and the communities that build and support them across Canada.
Organized by the Linux Association of Canada, Open Source Week brings together Linux user groups, open-source communities, developers, educators, students, businesses, public-sector organizations, and technology enthusiasts for a week of events taking place coast to coast to coast.
From August 29 to September 4, communities across Canada are invited to organize and participate in workshops, presentations, demonstrations, meetups, installation events, discussions, and other activities showcasing the value of Linux and open-source technologies. The week is designed to encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, digital skills development, and greater awareness of open technologies in Canada.
Open Source Week concludes with the national flagship event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on September 3–4, 2027, bringing together members of Canada's open-source community for two days of presentations, exhibits, demonstrations, networking, and community activities.
Whether you are an experienced open-source contributor, an IT professional, a student, an educator, a business, or simply curious about Linux and open technology, Open Source Week is an opportunity to connect, learn, contribute, and discover what Canada's open-source community is building.
