About This Event
SFSCON 2026 — South Tyrol Free Software Conference is an international conference dedicated to Free Software and open technologies, bringing together developers, decision-makers, public administrations, companies, students, researchers, and digital innovators from across Europe and beyond.
Held annually in Bolzano, South Tyrol, SFSCON is one of Europe's established Free Software conferences. The event explores how software freedom and open technologies can contribute to innovation, competitiveness, sustainable development, and greater control over digital infrastructure. The central theme for the 2026 edition is Digital Sovereignty.
The two-day program combines technical presentations, workshops, community gatherings, Birds of a Feather meetings, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. The accompanying Hacking Village showcases research, Free Software, robotics, and community projects, while the NOI Hackathon gives developers, designers, data experts, entrepreneurs, and other participants 24 hours to collaborate on practical challenges.
SFSCON provides a meeting place where technical communities, businesses, government, academia, and Free Software advocates can exchange knowledge, discover projects, discuss emerging technologies, and collaborate on the future of an open and digitally sovereign technology ecosystem.
