Full Job Description

Position: IT Systems Administrator Location: St Paul, Lac La Biche and East to Fort Mac Region We are seeking experienced IT technicians currently living in or willing to relocate to the St Paul, Lac La Biche region. This position serves our customer base throughout northern Eastern Alberta, with each day bringing you to different client locations across the region. About the Role: As an IT Systems Administrator, you'll provide vital technology support to Indigenous communities and organizations across northern Alberta. This role offers the unique opportunity to make a real difference by ensuring reliable IT infrastructure for clients between Edmonton and High Level. If you are not currently residing in the Grand Prairie, High Prairie, Slave Lake, or Peace River area, you must be prepared to relocate. What Makes This Role Unique: • Daily variety - each day brings new client sites and challenges • Meaningful work supporting Indigenous communities and organizations • Outbound position with extensive travel throughout northern Alberta Employment Details: • Type: Full-Time, Permanent • Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year (based on experience) • Travel: Daily travel to client sites required (100%) • Location Requirement: Must reside in or relocate to the Lac La Biche or St. Paul region Key Responsibilities: • Manage and maintain servers, operating systems, and virtualization platforms • Provide on-site IT support to clients, troubleshooting and resolving system issues • Oversee cloud environments and ensure optimal system performance and availability • Implement and monitor backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical data • Support and maintain internal Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies • Ensure system security through patch management, firewalls, and user access controls • Collaborate with the team to develop and execute IT strategies and plans • Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional on-site service and support What You’ll Do • Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues. • Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, network equipment, and related hardware. • Support users with software, connectivity, and general technical problems. • Document service calls, work completed, and follow-up requirements. • Deliver professional, friendly service while working independently. What You’ll Bring • Hands-on experience in IT support, troubleshooting, or a related technical role. • Working knowledge of Windows computers, common business software, and basic networking. • Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills. • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to drive throughout the service region. • Comfort travelling in northern Alberta, including rural and remote locations. • Availability for occasional overnight travel. • Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, network equipment, and related hardware. • Support users with software, connectivity, and general technical problems. • Document service calls, work completed, and follow-up requirements. • Deliver professional, friendly service while working independently.
