Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract) - 6 Months

About the role We’re hiring a hands-on DevOps Engineer for a 6-month contract to support our platform transformation, cloud delivery, and data warehouse infrastructure. You’ll stand up and operate AWS and Snowflake infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), plus CI/CD. This role is infrastructure-focused — you will not do data analysis or write SQL/dbt models. Contract details • Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs • Type: Contract • Location: Full remote What you’ll do • Support cloud platform work for our application transformation (new services alongside the existing system) • Build and maintain Terraform IaC for AWS and Snowflake • Design and operate CI/CD with Bitbucket Pipelines • Support AWS infrastructure for containerized services (ECS, IAM, networking, secrets, environments) • Build and maintain the data platform infrastructure: DMS → S3 → Snowpipe → Snowflake (and pipeline wiring for dbt execution) • Provision Snowflake objects (warehouses, roles/grants, resource monitors, databases/schemas, Snowpipe, tasks) • Improve reliability, observability, cost control, and environment promotion (dev/stage/prod) • Write clear runbooks and keep access models at least-privilege • Troubleshoot infra, permission, and deployment issues with a small engineering team Must-have skills • Strong Terraform experience (AWS required; Snowflake a plus) • Solid AWS fundamentals: IAM, S3, containers (ECS or similar), networking, monitoring • Hands-on Bitbucket Pipelines CI/CD experience • Experience building/operating cloud data pipeline infrastructure • Working knowledge of Snowflake administration basics (not SQL modeling) • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills Nice to have • AWS DMS (SQL Server and/or MySQL sources) • Aurora / PostgreSQL operations • API gateway and auth platform experience • Temporal (or similar workflow orchestration) • OpenTelemetry / Grafana • Experience supporting platform modernization / service migration • Experience in fintech or regulated environments • Familiarity with dbt deployment/orchestration (not model development) Out of scope • Data analysis/reporting • Writing SQL or dbt models • Business logic or application feature development Pay: $70.00-$120.00 per hour Experience: • AWS: 5 years (required) • DevOps: 5 years (required) • Terraform: 5 years (required) • Data migration: 3 years (preferred) • Snowflake IaC : 2 years (preferred) • AWS DMS: 2 years (preferred) Work Location: Remote
