Senior Python Engineer

TSR Consulting is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Python Engineer for an opportunity in Mississauga, ON Position Title: Senior Python Engineer Location: Mississauga, ON Job Type: Hybrid – 3 days to office & 2 days remote Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and it is subject to change. Expected Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Right to Hire) Pay Range: Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). We are seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, and CI/CD on Linux and a proven ability to design, build, and support scalable, secure services and integrations. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, test, and support Python-based applications and services. • Build and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations. • Contribute to development of Agentic AI workflows and MCP-enabled components. • Implement integrations between AI models, enterprise systems, and business applications. • Develop reusable services and components following enterprise engineering standards. • Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through support. • Implement monitoring, logging, and operational controls to ensure reliability. • Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks. • Work with messaging and event-streaming technologies for asynchronous processing. • Collaborate with business and technology teams to analyze requirements and deliver solutions. • Support issue resolution, performance tuning, and application enhancements. • Document designs, implementation details, and operational procedures. • Follow established security, governance, and risk management standards. Required Skills & Qualifications: • 8+ years of hands-on development with Python. • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices. • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms. • Proficiency with FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python frameworks. • Knowledge of SQL and database technologies. • Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing. • Experience working in Linux environments. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective collaboration. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
