The Opportunity
Join our MB-DMI (Model-Based Definition, Manufacturing & Inspection) team within the Quality organization. In this role, you will drive the digital transformation of aerospace inspection processes. You will bridge the gap between software development and advanced manufacturing by leveraging 3D modeling, high-precision CMMs, automation, and 3D scanning technologies.
Your Core Responsibilities
β’ Python Automation: Develop robust Python code to parse, interpret, and convert complex inspection-requirement files (XML, YAML, CSV, TXT).
β’ Workflow Optimization: Automate the injection of engineering requirements into industry-standard metrology software (GOM, PolyWorks).
β’ Data Pipelines & Reporting: Build automated pipelines to export inspection results into highly visual Excel reports and analytics dashboards.
β’ Systems Integration: Support the scaling of 3D-scanning inspection tools, inspection-plan generators, and underlying databases.
β’ Blueprint Translation: Work closely with engineering drawings, aerospace quality standards, and advanced tolerancing metrics.
What You Bring
β’ Education: Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical, Software, or Automated Production Engineering (or a related technical discipline).
β’ Expert Python: 10+ years of technical experience with advanced Python knowledge, specifically managing data via Pandas and organizing environments with venv and pip.
β’ Version Control: Solid foundational knowledge of Git and GitHub.
β’ Domain Expertise: Strong familiarity with mechanical design, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
β’ Bonus Assets: Experience with linear algebra, 3D geometry, point-cloud/STL file processing, and hands-on use of metrology software like PolyWorks or GOM.
