The Linux Association of Canada continues to make steady progress in building a stronger and more connected open-source community across the country. As our organization grows, so does the network of people and organizations helping us achieve our mission.


We are pleased to share that we have recently begun working with Perforce Software to explore opportunities for collaboration. Perforce has long been recognized for its contributions to enterprise software development, version control, DevOps, and open-source solutions through OpenLogic. Our initial discussions have been very positive, and we look forward to developing a meaningful relationship that benefits both organizations and, most importantly, the Canadian open-source community.


While our conversations are still in the early stages, we are excited about the possibilities ahead. We believe that collaboration between industry leaders and community organizations is essential for strengthening Linux adoption, supporting open-source education, and providing valuable resources to professionals, students, and organizations across Canada.

At the same time, we are equally proud to announce that several new volunteers have joined the Linux Association of Canada staff team.


Our growing volunteer team brings experience in areas including community management, cybersecurity, data verification, Linux systems, and open-source technologies. Their support allows us to accelerate ongoing projects such as expanding our Open Source Software Library, improving our Linux Distribution Library, enhancing member services, and developing new educational resources and community initiatives.


As a volunteer-driven organization, every new team member helps us move forward more efficiently. Their dedication allows us to spend more time creating resources, supporting local chapters, organizing events, publishing technical content, and connecting the Canadian Linux community.


These developments represent another important milestone in our journey. We remain committed to building an inclusive national organization where Linux users, developers, educators, students, businesses, and open-source advocates can collaborate, share knowledge, and help shape the future of open technologies in Canada.
