The Linux Association of Canada is pleased to welcome the Kitchener-Waterloo Linux User Group (KWLUG) as the newest User Group Member of our growing national community.

KWLUG has been an active part of Canada's Linux and open-source landscape for many years, bringing together enthusiasts, professionals, students, and newcomers to learn, share knowledge, and support one another. We are excited to begin working together and to build a strong, collaborative relationship.

This membership marks the beginning of a partnership focused on strengthening the Canadian Linux community through cooperation and shared initiatives. Together, we look forward to:

  • Promoting each other's events and community activities.
  • Collaborating on workshops, webinars, and educational programs.
  • Sharing knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Connecting Linux users and communities across Canada.
  • Supporting digital literacy and open-source education.
  • Encouraging community participation and volunteer engagement.
  • Building new opportunities for collaboration as our organizations continue to grow.

An important part of this partnership is that KWLUG remains a completely independent Linux User Group. Becoming a User Group Member of the Linux Association of Canada does not change how local communities operate. Instead, it creates opportunities for collaboration while respecting each group's unique identity, leadership, and traditions.

At the Linux Association of Canada, we believe Canada's Linux community is strongest when local user groups work together, share ideas, and support one another. By bringing communities together under a common vision, we can amplify our collective impact while preserving the independence that has always been at the heart of open source.

We are delighted to welcome the Kitchener-Waterloo Linux User Group to the Linux Association of Canada and look forward to many successful collaborations in the years ahead.

Welcome to the community, KWLUG! 🐧🇨🇦
